Having a baby is so very special and personalised. That is why the Sunshine Obstetric team will support and encourage your choice of the birthing options available, from natural births to caesarean or water births. During your appointments with our specialists and midwives please discuss your birth plans and personal request.
To ensure the safety of you and your newborn we choose to birth all patients at the Buderim Private Hospital. Buderim Private Hospital is situated in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. All patients have their own private rooms with ensuite. Patients must have pregnancy private health cover to access services at Sunshine Obstetrics. Obstetric Shared Care
As we are a shared care model you will not be able to request a particular obstetrician for your birth. Our specialists will work on an on-call, rotational roster for all Sunshine Obstetric patient births. Meet our obstetricians.
Birthing Costs
You may have additional out of pocket costs for hospital and other specialist services such as anaesthetics and paediatricians. However our specialist obstetricians have agreements with most private health funds and will offer Sunshine Obstetric patients a no gap cover for births, this is including caesarean sections. (Please let our admin team know which health fund you are with to determine if there is any additional costs for birthing with our specialists). Please contact you health fund directly to discuss additionally out of pocket costs for hospital admissions and other specialist fees.
