Initial Consultation with a Midwife
Once you have obtained a referral from your GP your initial appointment will be with a midwife and this appointment will be bulk billed if you have a Medicare card.
Initial Consultation with a Specialist
$190* is the total out of pocket for your first consultation with a specialist. Click Here to learn about our care model.
Antenatal and Postnatal Care
Following your initial consultation all other antenatal and postnatal visits will be bulk billed* (excluding planning and management fee)
Planning and Management Fee
$800* is the total out of pocket for your Planning and Management fee. (Payable after 28 weeks)
Birthing Costs
Our specialist obstetricians have arrangements with most private health funds and offer Sunshine Obstetric patients no gap payments for births, including caesarean section. ^Please discuss with our admin team to determine if there are additional costs with your current health fund.
*$990 is based on patients who have access to Medicare and have pregnancy private health
Additional Cost
There maybe additional costs that are not associated with Sunshine Obstetrics, these can include but are not limited to the following:
- Hospital excess associated with hospital stay.
- Other specialist such as anaesthetist and paediatrician
- Ultrasound scans and pathology
- Antenatal classes
